MOTHERWELL striker Chris Porter is looking for some bonus points against the Old Firm after the Lanarkshire side retained third spot in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League.
Porter was downbeat despite heading a double at Fir Park in the 2-2 draw after Dundee United levelled late in each half.
However, Aberdeen's victory over Hibs a few hours later kept Motherwell in pole position for the only UEFA Cup spot available
from the SPL.
Mark McGhee's men now face an Old Firm double header. First they host Celtic on their bumpy pitch before travelling to Ibrox for the first of two games against Rangers, and Porter believes they can take points off the big two.
The 24-year-old former Oldham striker said: "Although we are disappointed, a draw is a better result for us than it is for them. So it's not all doom and gloom.
"We have beaten Celtic once and drawn with Rangers so I don't see why we can't do it again.
"I think they will struggle as well on our pitch, so it gives us more of a chance."
Meanwhile, Kilmarnock were held to a 1-1 draw by already-relegated Gretna and now slip to second-bottom in the table.
Captain Garry Hay, playing his 260th game for his hometown side, blamed the club's dreadful run of injuries for their poor season, but also admitted: "It's definitely harder to get yourself up for games in the bottom half."
