TWO bat hunts are taking place in the Lothians next week.
Edinburgh Council Countryside Ranger Service is inviting people to discover the haunts of bats at Craigmillar Castle Park on Thursday.

Meet at the park entrance at Bridgend Farm, off Old Dalkeith Road, at 8pm.

Meanwhile, Midlothian Ranger Service will be using echo-locating bat detectors in Roslin Glen, as dusk settles over the tree tops along the River Esk.

Meet at the Roslin Glen car park, on B7003 between Roslin and Rosewell, at 8.30pm.
