A FESTIVAL aiming to provide opportunities to discover the Midlothian countryside over four days of walks, cycles and horse rides begins next month.
Midlothian Walking Festival, starting on August 15, will provide free walking tours for all ages.

Guides will take walkers through the Glencorse View Circular, starting at Flotterstone in the Pentland Hills Regional Park, and a tour of Mosshouses, along the old coal road from Leadburn into the Borders near Heriot.

There will also be walks through Penicuik's Cuikenburn, taking in the Esk Valley and Penicuik Estate, and Bonnyrigg's Borthwick Cycle Network Route.

All bookings must be confirmed by Friday, August 8 through the Midlothian Ranger Service on 01875 821 990.
