BIKE patrols have been launched in Midlothian to give police officers easier access to locations on their beat.
Police recently demonstrated the bikes at the Vogrie Festival.
Community Inspector John McGill said: "They are going to be utilised by the CAT team to supplement patrols throughout Midlothian.
"They will be used to access harder to reach areas, such as walkways and lanes.
"The bicycles will give officers enhanced visibility and hopefully reduce the fear of crime."
