Inquiry into park flooding

A PARK which has been saturated for most of the summer due to heavy rainfall is to have its drainage improved.
A works order is in place to investigate problems at Penicuik Public Park after football pitches were left almost impassible.
Gullies have already been cleaned and excess surface water has been removed but Midlothian Council is understood to have been advised there may be a blockage within an outfall pipe.
Following one of the wettest summers on record, concerns were raised about the condition of the park, by town councillors.
