AN award-winning restaurant in Midlothian has added three new recruits as it bids to grow its catering and events business.
The Glasshouse, in Eskmills, has appointed Steven Cook as its new restaurant manager, while Kirsty Thompson will take on the role of sous chef. Gillian Semmler is the new head of events.

General manager Mark Gardner said: "These three individuals are very talented, creative and excited about working at the Glasshouse.

"The business has had quite a phenomenal start and we're now planning to capitalise on that by building on some recent success in contract catering and securing more event business."

The Glasshouse was recently voted one of the UK's Top 100 restaurants by a leading catering magazine and was one of only eight in Scotland to earn a place.

I thought Eskmills was in Musselburgh, East Lothian? Another case of sloppy writing/subbing?

Nice that an old building is being used but a pity it had to close as a mill. That area was once a powerhouse of industry with the papaer mill, net mill and nearby the wire mill.
If the restaurant serves fish I wonder where the nets that catch them are made now.

#2 - yeh, typical there's a load of West, East and Midlothian stuff under the 'Edinburgh' listing - sad that they can't find anything in the city to write about. But the free advertising seems to be available irrespective of where it is - maybe this place is kinda quiet just now and needs all the free stuff it can get.

When we were in having a wonderfull dinner it was very busy!
As for free advertising
The Glasshouse in Mussleburgh is in a class off it's own!!!!
And we look forward very much to returning soon.

Should public money be used to prop up struggling post offices?
Yes, they’re vital for elderly people and rural areas
No, it’ll just be pouring cash down the drain
Give them back services that made them profitable
