LIVINGSTON boss Mark Proctor is hoping Leigh Griffiths can take his place in the team for the match against league leaders Hamilton at Almondvale tomorrow.
The 17-year-old striker limped off after just 15 minutes of the 3-2 defeat against Clyde last weekend. But he scared the home defenders to death during his brief stint and Proctor believes his lightning pace could put a dent in the visitors' promotio
n push and, in turn, secure the Lions' First Division status.

Griffiths aggravated a knee injury at Broadwood but has trained this week. However, he will not be risked if there is any reaction on matchday.

Proctor said: "Leigh is 50/50. He took a knock on his knee and it is a wee niggle he has been carrying and it flared it up. He has been in training this week but it depends what the reaction is."

Proctor can also welcome back midfielders Allan Walker and Murray Davidson who have served their suspensions for their red cards against Morton on March 22. However, Walker has been suffering from a virus this week and may be stood down.

The Accies could secure promotion to the SPL if they win tomorrow, but have a mixed record against the Lions.

Livingston beat Billy Reid's outfit on their last visit to West Lothian back in December, with two goals from Robert Snodgrass securing a victory which gave real optimism around Almondvale that their own title tilt was not a fantasy.

However, that result preceded four straight losses followed by the imposition of the transfer embargo, and the club has been struggling ever since.

With three games to go, the Lions have a five-point cushion above the relegation play-off spot and a victory, coupled with a defeat for Morton, would ensure survival in the First Division.

Proctor added: "The relegation issue is not done and dusted yet. We have this five-point gap and, with a better goal difference, it is more like six points, so we are close to safety."

Meanwhile, Proctor has spoken candidly about this season's campaign, admitting, errors were made in August and September.

"I had to change my approach, which I needed to after the start. I am disappointed because I had aspirations of being nearer the top of the league, but we have brought something different to the division."
