MURRAY DAVIDSON today thanked Livingston's senior pros for helping young stars like himself and teenage hot-shot Leigh Griffiths fire the club to the top of the First Division following a hard-fought 2-1 victory at Dunfermline.
Griffiths scored in each half to improve his season tally to nine in nine games, the first set up by Davidson and the winner, after the Pars had equalised through Andy Kirk in 53 minutes, a fine individual goal after 74 minutes.
Davidson, 20, said
: "People like James McPake, Dave Mackay and Chris Innes have been a massive help, especially in the last 15 minutes of games.
"On Saturday, they kept us going, maintained concentration and got us through. We have won at Morton and now at Dunfermline, two of the toughest places to come to in the league so hopefully we can keep it going and surprise a few people."
Davidson beat the offside trap to square for Griffiths for the opener after 41 minutes of a close first half. He continued: "I was going to shoot for the first goal, but saw Sparky (Griffiths] out of the corner of my eye.
"I thought he had more of a chance to score. He gets all the credit, but that's fine. In the five years I have been full-time at the club he is the best finisher I have seen. His second goal was superb, but he does stuff like that in training all the time. It is plain natural ability and if he continues to learn he could be a top, top player.
"At the start of the season, I think we only had seven players, but the Italians got everybody together and the training has been fantastic."
