FORMER Lord Provost Lesley Hinds has persuaded the council to seek sponsorship for its Burns Supper next year.
The council plans to host its own event to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the birth of Robert Burns. The £6000 event will be hosted by the Lord Provost in the City Chambers.
Cllr Hinds said that while £6000 is a relatively small amount, the council should speak to local companies about sponsorship. This was agreed by the ruling administration.
