ZOO keepers have now caught three of the five monkeys who escaped from their enclosure more than a week ago.
The Barbary Macaques escaped on Friday 3 July while being moved from their enclosure at Edinburgh Zoo. Keepers have coaxed three of them back into captivity while the two still on the loose are understood to be living in the trees around their enclosure.
Staff will not tranquillise the animals unless there is a concern about them moving into other parts of the zoo.
A spokeswoman for Edinburgh Zoo said: "We will continue our efforts until all the macaques are back in their enclosure."
The area around the escaped macaques remains closed off to the public.
