THE next event in the Edinburgh Lectures 2009/10 will take a behind-the-scenes look at the BBC series A History of Scotland.
Historians Mark Jardine and Catriona Macdonald will join BBC producers Neil McDonald and Richard Downes to debate the issues involved in presenting Scotland's history.

Presented by the Open University, the session at The Hub on Wednesday at 6.30pm will use clips from the programmes to illustrate how the series was devised.

Lord Provost George Grubb said: "This will be a real treat for the audience, who'll be given an exclusive and revealing behind the scenes look at how the series was made."

Aye, there's a deep and dark conspiracy by secret forces to conceal and hide Scotland's true and authentic history from Scotia's people. When we could be getting the truth about how Auld Caledonia's people is descended from an ancient race of blond, blue-eyed travellers from another galaxy, and how its heritage and true patrimony entitles it to all the riches of the worlds, instead we are left with a fake history that deceives the honest folk of our own fair land. When will the nation's true historians rise up and truly lift the lid on our true and genuine history from those who would conspiracy to hide and conceal the mysteries and truth of our island story?

Probably not at the Hub on Wednesday evening.
