NEWS junkies are being given the opportunity to bet on the outcome of breaking stories.
Edinburgh-based company Hubdub already has more than 200,000 visits per month to its website since launching in the US earlier this year.

The website, which has now gone live in the UK, gives users a pot of virtual money to place bets on the outcome of over 2000 running news stories.

Big stories such as the US presidential elections have helped boost the number of users, while in the UK, the top stories at the moment are where will Russell Brand next get a full-time job, when will the next breach of confidential data occur, and which couple will win Strictly Come Dancing.
