AN Edinburgh ambulance worker has been convicted of trying to take a photograph of a female patient's private parts on his mobile phone as she was being treated in the back of his vehicle.
Ambulance technician Scott Jenkins took out his phone and held it towards the woman as she sat drunk and naked from the waist down in the ambulance. The married father-of-two is said to have told his shocked colleagues "she'll never remember".

Jen
kins, of Balfron Loan, was found guilty at Edinburgh Sheriff Court of breach of the peace by taking or attempting to take a photograph of the private parts of a female in his care and making offensive remarks about her.

Ambulance crews had been called to the Cowgate on February 10 after reports that a woman was unconscious.

They helped her into the ambulance to take her to hospital, but she declared that she needed the toilet and took down her tracksuit trousers and pants.

Paramedic assistant Ruth Anderson, 28, said Jenkins made an offensive comment about the woman. Moments later she saw him holding a mobile phone camera out pointing it towards the woman, then crouching down to get a closer view.

Police examined his phone a month later and found pornographic pictures, but none of the patient. When officers put the allegations to him, Jenkins replied: "At no time did I actually take a photo of this girl. It's absolute nonsense. I'm not that stupid."

He has been allowed to remain on bail until he is sentenced next month.
