THE bin dispute has led to a decline in the number of residents feeling well-treated by the city council, according to latest figures.
A new report shows 61 per cent of residents felt they were well-treated in August and September in their contact with the authority, down six per cent on the previous two months and five per cent lower than the target.

In a new report on the council's corporate management performance, officials said: "This was attributed to issues associated with the refuse dispute."

# 5 Incandescent,

I have. The council have a list of householders who have put their names forward for council surveys, although I only did it once, out of curiosity.

#6 Interesting. I've never been told this is how it's done and so never had the opportunity to provide feedback. The fact that their stats are derived from people who go to the trouble to find out how to volunteer, rather than random sampling from the voter's roll, is very useful confirmation though that they are not remotely representative.

Since moving home 5 years ago not once have I been asked by any official for feedback. Why dont they put a survey into the post to everyone registered on the electoral roll and/or the council tax list. This means that real people would be asked their opinion rather than the favoured few who said yes to trams and the other idiotic plans that city council have come up with.

Just how are the workforce responsible for the poor performance of the Corporate Management ? I suppose we will be providing the scape goat for all the council failings from now on huh : } I just hope we dont get the blame for stealing Xmas too.

Junglebhoy,

Nobody's ever asked my voting intentions. Does that mean I shouldn't believe opinion polls?

JT,

That's not very scientific either. You would end up only getting the opinions of the few who answered the questionaire...no doubt ending up with a high proportion of whingers...a bit like this website;-)

The only way I can think of is random sampling of Council residents. But of course that would have to come out of your council tax.
