YOUNG campaigners fighting to save Drumbrae Primary from closure were left disappointed after turning up to council leader Jenny Dawe's monthly surgery only to find she wasn't there.
The teenagers – former pupils of Drumbrae – had planned to speak to Councillor Dawe over the city's proposals to close the school, along with three others.

Despite her surgery being advertised as taking place on the first Wednesday of every month during term time, it was not held this week as the school holidays were just about to start.

Karen Keil, of the Save Drumbrae campaign group, said the teenagers had been left disappointed.

She said: "They rehearsed what they were going to say and put a lot of work into it.

"They were furious when they got there and the school was closed up

"If the surgery wasn't going to take place, there should have been some prior notice."

Fifi la Bonbon,

Karen Keil of the Save Drumbrae campaign is a dumboheid, and I'm afraid the teenagers are dumboheids too.

They are complaining that Cllr Dawe didn't advertise that her surgeries were off outside the school term. I did a wee consumer test. I did a Google search on "Jenny Dawe" - the first entry on Google was her council web page. It has her name, and her photo, and then it says, really very clearly "Surgery times Gylemuir Primary School, 1st Wednesday (during school term) 6:30pm"

Go and look for yourselves - http://www.edinburgh.gov.uk/internet/council/council_business/councillor_database/councillors/A03_Cllr_Jenny_Dawe_(LBD)

Now God knows I'm no fan of the horrible nationalist - lib dem cabal that is ruining the city, but be fair, a bit of basic research is callled for. They could equally have phoned the council to get the information, or called into the local library, but they don't seem to have done so. Then they go to the papers to complain that the council didn't send a special psychic message to them, or whatever.

Dear Ms La Bonbon
Unfortunate own goal.
Couldnt agree more with you about proper researching...however you should try reading what you find too!
Mrs Dawe's surgery is advertised as being during term time and her last surgery was the day before school term finished- so she should have been there (and if she couldn't go she at least should have sent a deputy-come to think of it Deputy Dawe has a strange kind of ring to it- or she should have advertised this fact on her website.)
Sadly can only agree with you about the cabal in charge.....
