KENNY RICHEY has warned a thief who stole his bicycle to watch his back.
The former Death Row prisoner said the theft took place outside his mother's house in Dalry, where he is currently living.

And Richey, 43, warned the thief: "If you're out there, I want my bike back, because if I see you riding it ..."

Richey, who returned to the Capital last month after more than 22 years in a US jail, was speaking on Edinburgh radio station talk107. He said: "I had the wheel padlocked to the frame but had not padlocked it to the fence.

"Some jammy bugger came and took my bike. They got a bar from a fence, put it in a chain and twisted it until it snapped and ran off with it. Welcome home, Kenny."

So, what were Richey's actual words? Why has the Scotsman edited them? Why are his statements being censored?

"Some jammy b*gger came and took my bike. They got a bar from a fence, put it in a chain and twisted it until it snapped and ran off with it. Welcome home, Kenny."

First - The Scotsman is free to use "unsuitable words" in reports, but the reading public is deemed stupid. If my sensitivities are unassailed by reading an unsuitable word, why prevent me from quoting that word? Second - Did KR actually welcome himself home, as the the quote implies? Whatever, this is world news.
