SAILORS leaving the International Festival of the Sea, held at Leith, have become the latest seafarers to spot a humpback whale in the Firth of Forth.
The crew of the Leith-based tall ship, Jean de la Lune, were amazed to spot the giant mammal yesterday afternoon off the north coast of the Forth near Anstruther.

The sighting comes just months after a school of humpbacks was spotted in the Firth of Forth, spurring Scottish marine experts into calling on an American university for help in identifying the creatures.
