Anna Richardson, 28, a project manager from Bruntsfield, chooses her five top places to take visitors in Edinburgh and the Lothians.
Craigmillar Castle This building is great fun to explore and it has a fascinating history. The ruin has really nice grounds and doesn't feel like it's in the city.

The Royal Botanic Garden If it's a nice day, then this is a great place to wander and chill out. I like sitting outside the cafe and enjoying the surroundings.

Arthur's Seat This is for the most energetic, but the view when you get to the top is definitely worth it. My mates in England think it's amazing we have this in the middle of town.

North Berwick This is a lovely day trip. It's one of the best beaches in East Lothian and there are lots of nice little quirky shops.

Glenkinchie Distillery, Pencaitland I took some friends here recently and we really enjoyed it. You get to see all stages of the whisky being made and then you can try some samples.
