Body tackles the health gap

A NEW NHS body aimed at narrowing the health gap in Scotland has been launched.
Health Scotland's directorate of equalities and planning – backed by the Scottish Government – will ensure patients in deprived areas get the best care possible.

Its director, Cath Denholm, said: "Scotland's health gap is well known, but we can begin to close it by using a human rights-based approach to healthcare."
