Pyjama-clad students to walk 95 miles for charity
STUDENTS will walk 95 miles in their pyjamas to raise money for a charity helping disabled children.
The six friends, who met through the Edinburgh University Music Society, will start the West Highland Way tomorrow. They are calling themselves the "Walking Wee Willie Winkies" and will trek from Milngavie to Fort William in six days.
They hope to raise £1000 for Jessie's Fund, which helps seriously ill and disabled children, through the creative use of music and music therapy.
Rosie Childs, 23, said: "We're up for a challenge and are willing to risk more than a few blisters and encounters with midges in order to support such a worthy cause.
"Music often has a remarkable effect on the children and for some it can be vital."
The other walkers are Chris Williams, 21, Georgie Fay, 22, Laurence Kennerley, 21, Ciaran Devlin, 22, and Charlotte Mitchell, 23.
