A RANGE of initiatives to help smokers kick the habit were taking place across Lothian to mark No Smoking Day.
All four Community Health Partnerships in the region were holding stop smoking advice sessions and roadshows in many venues.
In West Lothian, 15,000 leaflets have been delivered to advertise the No Smoking Day Challenge – which aims to see 250,000 Scots pack in smoking. And the East Lothian CHP launched a new Smokefree Homes Initiative and their new website at
www.stopsmokingeastlothian.co.uk.
Dr Alison McCallum, NHS Lothian's director of public health, said: "These activities show NHS Lothian's determination to help people stop smoking so that we can all enjoy better health."
