Google's ads earnings soar

INTERNET giant Google has overtaken Channel 4 to become the second-biggest advertising earner in the UK - and looks set to beat ITV to the top spot within two years.
The firm's UK advertising revenues soared by 83 per cent to £821 million in the past year, surpassing Channel 4 at £775m and behind ITV at £1.63m.

Overall, the group saw total ad revenues hit £10.6 billion - with around £6bn coming from the US.
