Athletic and Vale to battle it out in Scottish Cups

THE Scottish Youth FA Challenge Cups series concludes tomorrow when no fewer than three age group finals take place at Airdrie's Excelsior Stadium.

Today saw the under-17 and under-19 finals with the younger age group kicking off at 1.00pm when Paisley side Johnstone Burgh BC faced Leith Athletic.

At 3.00pm, the under-19 clash saw Glasgow side Drumchapel United and Bonnyton Thistle from Ayrshire battle it out for youth football's premier trophy.

Three Aberdeen sides travel tomorrow to compete in all three finals at under-14, under-15 and under-16 age groups.

At 11.30am, Albion BC take on Clyde Soccer Cumbernauld at the under-14 age group then, at 2.00pm, it will be the turn of Albion under-15s to see if they can overcome Paisley's Hillwood Boys' Club.

Drawing the curtain down on the finals for 2008 will be the under-16 teams Dyce BC and Hutchison Vale at 4.00pm.

It just wouldn't be a Scottish Cup Final Festival without a team from Hutchison Vale. The Edinburgh Club can boast of no fewer than nine Scottish Cup victories at various age groups.

Their opponents, Dyce BC from Aberdeen, will in no way be overawed as their under-16s were victorious in 2005 and their under-15s were runners up in 2004.

Windsor on the look out for coach

MUSSELBURGH Windsor FC are seeking applications from coaches to manage their under-15 squad in season 2008/09.

The team is currently concluding their fixtures and have gained a reputation for playing good, passing football

Musselburgh Windsor FC is one of the largest and oldest juvenile clubs in existence.

The home grounds are at Pinkie Playing Fields in Musselburgh which afford the club one of the best training and playing environments in the country.

This is allied to the new changing facility boasting club room, meeting room, kitchen, office and eight changing rooms making the club a very attractive arena for youth football.

Final date set

EAST and Midlothian will meet Dumfries in the final of the Scottish Schools' FA under-15 Trophy at the Shotts Bon Accord stadium on Friday, May 16, with a 7.00pm kick-off.

It is the seventh time in the last ten years that East & Mid have reached the final of this event.
