Jennifer Cowie, 28, a bank cashier from Bruntsfield, picks her five favourite places to eat in the Capital.
1. Gandhi's, East Fountainbridge My favourite dish, butter chicken, just melts in your mouth.

2. La Cantina, Commercial Quay A great place for a meal out with friends. There is something on the menu for everyone.

3. Browns, George Street Beautiful surroundings and the best beer-battered fish and chips.

4. Zizzi's, Edinburgh Quay You can look out over the canal, or watch your meal being prepared in the open-plan kitchen. Either way, the food is always top notch.

5. The Waiting Room, Belhaven Terrace You'd be hard pressed to beat its wide selection and generous portions.
