A SELECTION of previously unseen artworks by painter Jack Vettriano has been unveiled on his new website.
It features dozens of unseen pictures and an overview of his works from the past 20 years.

Among the new artworks is a 2006 painting called Goodbye Jack Vettriano, which was inspired by lyrics from a song by Edinburgh band Saint Jude’s Infirmary.

Others include a 1997 painting Showgirl, which was painted whilst Vettriano was living and working in the Capital.

Mr Vettriano said: “I’ve had some very flattering approaches but I’ve no plans to join another gallery just yet; when I’m ready to announce my next exhibition, subscribers to my site will be the first to know.”

The website, www.jackvettriano.com, was set up following the artist’s split from the Portland Gallery in 2007.

Seen a couple of his paintings I like, something atmospheric about them...but as for the rest...his obsessive painting of himself with some glamerous hauf naked wumman....albeit middle aged and on the saggy side...just somethin to seedy, too tired and too staged about them....

Now that fat wumman that thon Freud fella painted...feckin fabulous by the way..ye could jist reach oot and fondle the flab....pretty sure auld Vet could dae that if 'e stoapped paintin daft forties paperback covers....
