NOVELISTS including AL Kennedy and Kate Atkinson are among the subjects of a series of portraits being exhibited in the Capital.
Tollcross artist Anna Caro painted or drew nine of Scotland's most popular contemporary female authors for the exhibition.

She said: "I'm pleased with how the paintings have turned out. I think they all have something of the essence of the writer in them."

The exhibition is on show at the Writer's Museum, Lady Stair's Close, and runs until July 12.
