A TALK on the international plight of the koala bear is to be given at Edinburgh Zoo.
Fewer than 100,000 koalas are left in the wild and local extinction rates are leading to poor long-term viability for the animals.

Deborah Tabart, also known as the "Koala Woman", is to visit the zoo as part of a tour to spread awareness about the plight of the koala. Ms Tabart is the head of the Australian Koala Foundation.

Her talk, Koala Alert, is to be held on Tuesday, July 1.
