COUNCIL bosses have moved to reassure Edinburgh residents after problems with the local authority's phone lines.
Callers had struggled to contact council departments after faults occurred on the lines yesterday morning.

A council spokeswoman said: "We have experienced some problems with IT and phone services and are still working with our ICT partners, BT, to identify the root cause of the problems.

"All phones lines should now be up and running, but if you have a problem getting through to a council number please call the main switchboard on 0131-200 2000."
