A NEW private hospital is set to be built on a site next to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.
Spire Healthcare, which owns the 70-bed private Murrayfield Hospital, wants to build a new 15-bed hospital on the three-acre Shawfair Park site.

The site has been chosen because of its proximity to the NHS-run ERI, where many of Spire's consultants are based

Julie Campbell, business development manager for Spire, said: "The ERI is expanding and growing. A lot of our consultants are based there and live in the area, so it would be convenient."
