BILLY FORSYTH, dance director for the Edinburgh Military Tattoo, has received an MBE for services to Highland dancing, taking the opportunity to show off some of his prize-winning footwork in the Buckingham Palace quadrangle.
Mr Forsyth, from Dunblane, is a former World Highland Dancing Champion and has judged dance competitions all over the world.

He received his award from Prince Charles.

"The Prince asked me about my involvement in the Tattoo. He said it must be a logistical nightmare," said Mr Forsyth.

He added: "To receive an award from the royal family really [brings] it all together."
