Burns takes the reins

LABOUR councillors in Edinburgh have formally appointed Andrew Burns as their new leader.
At a group meeting last night, the former transport leader took over from Ewan Aitken, who has a new job with the Church of Scotland.

Cllr Burns said: "I'm delighted to have received the full backing of the Labour group."

Personally delighted. Burns is one of the most decent Councillors in the City Chambers.

I would be hard for him to worse than the opportunist and hypocritical Rev Aitken.

See otehr story of with wasting £400 of photos of himself then critising other councillors for spending £26.

Good to see the Evening News has started reporting Labours time-wasting and opportunism.

How come he didn't need to raise £16k, break the rules, refuse to apologise, and blame the officials ?

Just like wee wifey wendy when she had her unopposed anointment as leader of the newliebore north british branch ?
