HIBS owner and millionaire Sir Tom Farmer has thrown his weight behind the campaign for a Leith museum.
Sir Tom, one of Leith's best known sons, has agreed to become the campaign's patron and said a museum for the area would benefit everyone locally.

He said: "The Leith Museum Group is made up of a cross-section of community, business and other representatives of the Leith community. Its campaign for a Leith museum has now been backed by more than 3000 people.

"The group will shortly be submitting funding applications for a number of interim projects towards its ultimate objective of securing the establishment of a museum for Leith."

Edinburgh North and Leith MP Lazarowicz said: "We are delighted to have this support from such a prominent Scottish businessmen and leading Leither.

"I know that Sir Tom has backed the idea of a Leith museum for some time."

Fantastic idea. The first item on show could be a photo (if one exists) of the Hibs Scottish Cup winning squad of 1902...... ;-)

Get your hand in your pocket Farmer. It would take 0.00001 per cent of your annual income to make it happen. Go on ya big tycoon, save tax payers some cash for a change rather than just opening yer rich mouth!

Wiener

What? Give him a break.

The guy has probably paid more in tax in a year than all of the posters here will pay in a lifetime.

And now he has the audacity to put his hand in his pocket for charity; There is no pleasing some folk.

Hopefully there will be a John Gibson wing housing all of Gibbo's tedious ramblings over the last 100 years.

Surely future generations and social commentators from the 31st century have a right to gasp at the cheek of Leith's foremost free-loading 'journalist'.
