POP duo The Proclaimers have given their backing to a charity CD put together by Edinburgh school children and their teachers.
Charlie and Craig Reid have sent a message of support to pupils from Stewart's Melville College and The Mary Erskine School, who are raising money for the Maggie's Centre at the Western General hospital in memory of former teacher, Grant Mackenzie, who died of cancer.

They have formed a band called The Protractors and are releasing a CD in time for Christmas.

Charlie Reid said: "Very best wishes for this endeavour and good luck to the band in raising as much money as possible."
