Population prediction 'highlights need for housing'
A HOMELESS charity said news that the number of households in Edinburgh is to rocket highlights the "pressing" need for more housing.
Figures released this week predicted a 35 per cent rise in the number of households in the Capital over the next 25 year.
Archie Stoddart, director of Shelter Scotland, said the number of one-adult households is also set to double.
He added: "With an ageing population we need to ensure enough homes for working age people stay in this country to generate wealth for the nation."
