A GARDENING scheme that supports an Edinburgh apprentice has reached the semi-finals of the National Lottery Awards 2008 and is appealing for public votes before tomorrow’s deadline.
BTCV Scotland’s Natural Talent Apprenticeship Scheme supports gardeners across Scotland including one, Neville Kilkenny, 42, working at the Capital’s Royal Botanical Garden.

BTCV Scotland’s Natural Talent Co-ordinator, Dr Joanne Mould, says: “It’s a fantastic achievement to have reached the semi-finals of The National Lottery Awards, now we need all our supporters to get behind us and vote. Without Lottery funding our project wouldn’t exist.”

The winner will receive £2000 to spend on their project and the opportunity to star in a special primetime BBC1 TV show.

Votes have to be received by noon tomorrow and can be made either by calling 0845 386 1374, or by logging on to www.lotterygoodcauses.org.uk/awards.
