A NURSE who was rescued from the boot of a car after being missing for nine days has returned home.
Magdeline Makola, 38, was discovered trapped inside her red Vauxhall Astra in Airdrie, 20 miles from her Livingston home, on Boxing Day.

Friends and family said she was discharged on Wednesday and was recovering well at home.

Her brother Refilwe, 35, said: "She's back home now and she's been getting visits from all of her friends and neighbours, and she was laughing and joking with them all day."

Friend Babs Gqabu said: "The hardest days are yet to come, as I don't think it's all sunk in yet."

South African-born Sifiso Justice Ngema, 35, has been charged with her attempted murder, and was remanded in custody following a second appearance at Linlithgow Sheriff Court this week.
