Motorbike bid rejected

A BID to allow motorcycles into the city's bus lanes looks set to fail.
A new report by council chiefs has concluded there is no evidence the move would have any benefits on pollution, safety or congestion.

Funny how other cities are allowing motorbikes in bus lanes and more are to follow. Ireland has allowed motorbikes in bus lanes for 4 years now, other places, much longer. Research by the DfT contradicts what the council "thinks".

Not much of a loss though considering that a lot of the bus lanes in the centre are a mess with broke or road works.

Albanactus. Very true and I agree. Even london looks set to allow bikes into bus lanes, depite livingston ignoring the facts about safety.
It time Edinburgh caught up.
