A MILLIONAIRE property magnate is offering to pay parking charges for hard-up motorists in the Capital.
Paul Dickens is to employ kilt-wearing "meter hunks" on George Street from 9.30am to 6.30pm tomorrow, after a similar scheme last year saw "meter maids" handed out thousands of pounds to drivers in the city centre.

He said today: "After the meter maids I had dozens of calls from disgruntled ladies, so this is our way of balancing up the gesture.

"The four hunks will be wearing kilts and will have their sporrans filled with pound coins which they will be only too happy to give to people for their parking."

He added: "The whole thing is a bit of fun and it will hopefully put a smile on the faces of long-suffering city centre drivers."

What an idiot with his stupid publicity stunt. Of course people should pay for parking. Why does the EN always play into the hands of these egotistical publicity merchants who think their opinions more important than the needs of the people as represented by our democratically elected representatives. If Mr Dickens disagrees, he should stand for election, rather than making himself look cheap. Yeah, the moaning whiners who want to park their lazy-machines wherever they like will suck up to his idiot ideas, as usual. But otherwise this is a rubbish story getting his rubbish company free publicity.

I will be parking tomorrow and hope they can help with the cost.
