FIREFIGHTERS from Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue Service are to run a recruitment drive at Edinburgh's Race for Life events.
Outreach officers Lynne Gow and Lud Ramsey will take part in the female only charity events in South Queensferry tomorrow and again in the capital at the beginning of June,
where they hope to encourage other competitors to consider joining the fire service.
Brigade outreach officer, Lynne Gow, said: "Race for Life is an absolutely fantastic event, it is great fun and everyone's hard work counts towards an extremely important cause, so it's a pleasure for us to attend.
"However, because it attracts so many women, many of whom possess the fitness and drive to have what it takes, it is also a perfect platform to promote firefighting as a great career for females."
