THE Royal Company of Archers were all aquiver yesterday as they celebrated the 300th anniversary of the Silver Arrow competition.
The contest has run since the Magistrates of Edinburgh presented the company with a silver arrow as a prize in 1709, with members competing against one another every year.

The archers marched to the competition site on the north side of the Meadows yesterday.

The Lord Provost and councillors then led the Company back to the City Chambers for a reception to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the prize.
