Appeal rubs off on panto stars

ALADDIN stars Allan Stewart and Grant Stott get behind the Evening News campaign to stop the elderly falling victim to the cold this winter.
We are asking you to join the panto stars and take part in Wear a Hat Day on Friday to raise funds to buy potentially life-saving cold alarms for pensioners.
By wearing a hat and donating just £1 to Age Concern Scotland, you can help provide an alarm to alert an elderly person when the temperature drops to dangerous levels.
Stott, who plays the evil Abanazar at the King's Theatre panto this year, said: "This is a great way to have a bit of fun this winter, while also raising money for what is essentially life saving equipment for the elderly."
Phone 0845-833 9358 or e-mail wearahatday @ascot.org.uk for a free fundraising pack.
You can also send cheques made out to Age Concern Scotland to the charity at Causewayside House, 160 Causewayside, Edinburgh EH9 1PR.
