MSPs go on discovery tour in the country
A GROUP of MSPs was on a fact-finding visit to East Lothian today as part of an inquiry into affordable housing in rural areas.
Members of the Scottish Parliament's rural affairs and environment committee were being given a guided tour by the East Lothian Housing Association to look at existing and redeveloped housing.
The MSPs are keen to learn first hand about some of the housing issues that people face in rural areas as they travel across the country.
And they also want to find out about successful local initiatives in tackling rural housing problems by looking at examples in different parts of Scotland.
Committee members have already visited Pitlochry as part of their inquiry and they are due to go to Arran next week.
