French lessons in democracy

FRENCH councillors will be looking at local democracy in action on a trip to the Lothians.
East Lothian Council is welcoming a group of elected council members from the Savoy region of eastern France on May 12.

Provost Sheena Richardson will greet them at the Brunton Hall in Musselburgh and there will be a presentation on how East Lothian council is run.

The French are keen to discuss how councils work in relation to a devolved Scottish government.
