PENICUIK have made it through to the last four of cricket's Scottish Cup after a superb run chase away to Forfarshire yesterday.
The Midlothian men bowled first at Forthill and restricted their SNCL First Division rivals to 243-8 from their 50 overs. Pro Mohammed Ramzan was the main man with the ball for the visitors taking 3-38.

Skipper Stuart Chalmers then led the way as
Penicuik booked their semi-final spot. He hit 74, while youngster Kris Steel notched 43. Veteran all-rounder Willie Morton then saw them home with a fine 47 not out as they reached 244-5 with six balls remaining.

They will be joined in the semi-final draw by holders Greenock and Ferguslie who saw off Clydesdale and Prestwick respectively yesterday. The semis are scheduled for Sunday, August 10, with the final at Uddingston two weeks later.

Meanwhile, Heriot's skipper Gavin McIntyre believes the recent league loss to Clydesdale may have galvanised his charges as they continue to chase Scottish Cup glory.

The Goldenacre men saw yesterday's cup quarter-final postponed as Uddingston had a Cockspur Cup match to play, but McIntyre is confident his side can give a good account of themselves at Bothwell Castle on the rearranged date of June 20.

"We didn't perform against Clydesdale and we had a long chat afterwards as it wasn't good enough. We know the standards we have to reach and hopefully we can play to them for the rest of the summer," he said.
