THE Museum of Flight has been given a boost in its bid to win the Gulbenkian Prize after Concorde was named the public's favourite design in the last 100 years.
The East Fortune museum is the only Scottish contender in the shortlist of ten for the £100,000 prize, which recognises originality, imagination and excellence in museums and galleries across the UK.

The supersonic plane beat off competition from the Spitfire, the telephone box and the world wide web to scoop the top design award run by the BBC Culture Show in a televised ceremony last night.

Since it opened in March 2005, the Concorde Experience has welcomed over 155,000 visitors.
