CELTIC striker Georgios Samaras claims the atmosphere of the Old Firm derby is by far the most intense that he has been involved in.
The Greek striker hopes to feature at Parkhead tonight in what will be his second clash with quadruple-chasing Rangers since joining Gordon Strachan's side on loan from Manchester City in January.

Samaras played at Ibrox last month in a match Ra
ngers won 1-0 to tighten their grip on the SPL title, and the frenzied atmosphere left him blown away.

But he knows tonight's encounter could be even more intense as Celtic will almost certainly have to win to maintain any hope of defending their title.

"It is a massive game," he said. "I have already played a big game within the same city when I was at Manchester – City versus Manchester United.

"This match is ten times bigger and the fans are more fanatical."

The former Heerenveen striker is unlikely to sample another Manchester derby but he could play in more Old Firm games if he makes his loan deal permanent at the end of the season.

"I'm glad I'm here at Celtic, trying to help me to the European Championship (with Greece] in the summer," he said.

"That is why I want to help them win the title but what will happen in the summer, I don't know. All I know is I won't be going back to Manchester City. That is for sure. After the summer we will sit round the table. Staying at Celtic is my first choice but time will tell."

For once in my life I will try to be a neutral football supporter when commenting on tonight's OF match.

May the best team win tonight, as long as it is RFC. lol

Celtic need to win, but with gs record i am not to confident. I will go against the odds and say Celtic will beat rangers 2-0.

#3 If thats your prediction when your not confident,
id hate to see it when you ARE!!
I cant see Gers losing tonight, if anything, a draw. A scoring one at that. I cant see Celts going FIVE games without scoring against Gers. Gers defense has been rock solid in Greece, Germany, Portugal, France as well as at the Brox (Barca) So to say Celts to win by 2 without reply is asking a bit much.

Celtic will stuff Rangers 4v0 tonight, at last we will get some luck and finish all our chances, and you will then implode and loose all your games including the semi against St Johnstone. What a fantastic thought, after all the talk this season you end up with the League Cup. Absolutely fantastic and you can't deny it's a possibility (See Leeds United).

Hail Hail

I said the other night I reckopn it's a 3-1 victory for the hoops and I am sticking with it.

I think it's a night when Scott McD and VofH and Naka will break their old firm duck.

McD with a scrambled opportunist effort.

VofH with a close range header.

Naka with a free kick.

Rangers to score with Darcheville breakaway.

We want it bad tonight and I think we'll get it, but I am unsure whether it will be enough.

Mon the hoops do yourselves justice.

Finaly an OF game worth talking about and I don't mean the score (2-1). The fight at the end says it all, both are trying their best to take the league, with the ref doing Celtic a great favour, given Gary Caldwell a red (although he played well last night).

Does rangers have the metal to win all their remaining games, WS can rally the troops, but the troops have carried some luck over the last 4 months.

Wonder why this rag won't let the tic fans enjoy the threads today, SOUR GRAPES.
