CELTIC midfielder Aiden McGeady believes a greater goal tally is the next step in his continuing search for perfection.
The reigning Player of the Year is happy with the improvement in his play since he established himself as a first-team regular at Parkhead. But with only eight goals to his credit last season, McGeady knows where his next challenge lies.

Ahead of the visit of St Mirren in the Bhoys' Clydesdale Bank Premier League opener at Parkhead tomorrow, the Republic of Ireland international said: "In previous seasons, it was sometimes said that my end product wasn't good enough. I worked hard on that and I managed to set up a few goals.

"Eight goals isn't a bad return, and I don't think I'm the worst finisher at the club, but I know I could have scored more goals.

"Last season, my target was to hit double figures. I managed to get eight and that was okay."

The Scottish Champions have a great season to look forward to.

We're going for a fourth consecutive title and another exhilerating adventure into the money spinning Champions League.

I think the squad we have is big enough to cope between now and Xmas , and if our euro adventure is to resume in the new year, we will need to strengthen in the January window.

We have the best strike force in the country, the best goalie in the country, the best player in the country (according to the professionals) and the best midfield in the country.

Noone conceeded fewer goals than Celtic last season, and so there is no better defence in the country.

4 in a row here we go! And let's see how far we can go in the CL.

1 Patrick

I just wanted to thank you for you're non support regarding the post 33 on the RFC thread from the CFC supporter who loves to clone.

I can take all the slagging someone wants to give me, but for one of your fellow tic supporters to say "I hope you're wife gets cancer" Thats the low of the low

Had the role been reversed I am sure the support would have been there for you and the decent tic supporters who follow these threads. No wonder these threads are going down hill fast.

RANGERS LOYALIST,

A midfield with Paul Hartley and Barry Robson in it can hardly be described as quality.
Although in the minds of the deluded....
#2 And you're surprised why?
