Popular theme parks drive Disney's first quarter profits up by 22 per cent

DISNEY'S profits have increased by 22 per cent in the first quarter of the year, with theme parks and its films continuing to prove popular.
The company said it had made £600 million in the first three months to the end of March, compared with £474m the previous year.
A weak dollar helped spur trips to Disney's American theme parks from overseas and its studio revenue rose 18 per cent, with films including National Treasure 2 and Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds doing well at the box office.
