DISCOUNT supermarkets Aldi, Lidl and Netto are expected to increase their share of Britain's grocery market by 60 per cent in the next four years, as the credit crunch forces shoppers to make savings.

The slowdown has seen many middle class shoppers heading for cheaper stores.
