Costs cream off dairy cash
ROBERT Wiseman Dairies said today that it has suffered "exceptional" rises in feed costs in the last six months, but said that sales volumes and turnover are still in line with expectations.
The company had previously warned that it would have to implement price rises if costs continued to rise and it now says it is putting the plans in place.
It said that sales of its one per cent fat brand 'The One' have benefited from a £2 million advertising campaign and its year-to-date figures are showing an increase of 34 per cent in the last year.
The Scottish dairy said it is confident it will deliver results in line with management expectations.
"We are in excellent shape going forward to further develop the business," the firm said today.
